Redemption Roasters is known for producing speciality coffee, served through its eleven London coffee shops as well as via whole sale and subscription channels. But what makes the business different is the mission behind it.
Redemption Roasters: Coffee with a social purpose
Founded in 2016 by university friends Ted and Max, Redemption Roasters was created with a simple but powerful goal: to reduce reoffending by providing prisoners and prison leavers with the skills, training and opportunities they need to secure meaningful employment after release.
Working in partnership with the prison service, Redemption established its first roastery inside HMYOI Aylesbury, equipping participants with practical skills and a pathway into work. In 2018, the business launch edits first dedicated barista academy at HMP Springhill, before relocating its roastery to HMP The Mount in 2020, where it expanded production capacity and continued to develop its training programmes.
Supporting the future growth of Redemption Roasters
Today, coffee is roasted at its new Wembley facility, the company's first roastery outside a prison setting, and the team is poised for further growth, creating more jobs, more training opportunities and even greater social impact.

With 14 years’ experience handling and storing speciality coffee here at the Commodity Centre, we understand this business inside out. · Our team has been specially trained to understand the value of speciality coffee and as a result, they handle it with the care and respect it deserves;
· With advanced IT systems, we trace every bag through the supply chain.
· We will know exactly when a bag left the lorry, when it was received into our warehouse and where it was stored for the duration of the time it is in our care;
· We continuously manage and monitor the quality of the coffee whilst it is stored within our warehouses so we know the quality is as good on the day it leaves us as on the day it arrived.
