Whether it's attending events, supporting charity auctions, sponsoring marathon runners, backing ambitious cycling challenges, or bringing teams together for initiatives such as Christmas Jumper Day and charity bake sales, we're committed to helping raise funds and awareness for a wide range of causes. By supporting these activities, we encourage a culture of giving back and making a positive difference in the communities where we live and work.
The Anderson Foundation
In 2003, Mark Anderson decided to pull on the resources of his wider network attained through many years of successful business leadership to launch an initiative that allowed fundraisers to become more 'hands on' in terms of where and how money was spent. This specific way of working has fostered an incredible sense of agency and inclusion in their supporters and fundraisers - CCUK included - who are able to see the impact of their generosity and endeavour in very real terms.
The Anderson Foundation has developed a landmark project: constructing the Anderson School in Chigwell, Essex, specifically for autistic children. CCUK has widely supported this charity, attending numerous fundraising events and participating in auctions to help raise funds for this huge project which has cost over £16 million to realise.
Henry Eastwick raising funds for Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service
Commodity Centre works closely with Henry Eastick and the team at Ragus, storing sugar and managing logistics for their business. Henry undertook an epic 3,000-mile ocean-rowing adventure in aid of Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service. We were delighted to support his challenge.
Working with Fatima's UK Campaign
Fatima's UK Campaign works to improve the life chances of children in care and care leavers by ensuring they are seen, heard and valued. Through advocacy, collaboration and fundraising, the charity aims to create a fairer care system and help every care-experienced young person achieve their full potential. We are delighted to offer business advise and support to Fatima Whitbread and Gina Gardiner, the charity's Chair and Vice Chair.
Federation of Cocoa Commerce supporting SOS Children's Villages
By attending the biennial FCC dinner, CCG contributes to SOS Children's Villages. This is the FCC's cocoa project in Venezuela set up to provide more women and girls with essential knowledge and skills to enter the cocoa industry.
Christmas Jumper Day in support of Save the Children
All staff across the whole Group are encouraged to participate in the annual Christmas Jumper Day! For every jumper worn, CCG gives a donation to Save the Children.
Christmas Card charity donations
Each year, in lieu of physical Christmas Cards, CCG makes a charitable donation to a local charity of choice for each site (UK, Belgium & Netherlands).
Overstag in support of Mercy Ships and other local charities
CCB support Overstag, a unique charity event in Antwerp attracting 2,000 members of the port community. Held every two years, Overstag brings colleagues and friends from across the maritime industry together to raise funds for good causes. Proceeds will go to Mercy Ships and several local charities, helping to make a real difference within the community.
CCUK team complete RIDE Essex for Action Medical Research
RIDE Essex takes place each year - a 36 mile ride through the Essex countryside to support Action Medical Research, the leading UK-wide charity saving and changing children's lives through medical research. We're always pleased to support members of our team who take part in such local events.
UKWA and the National Autistic Society
CCUK was proud to support the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) as it celebrated its 80th anniversary. The UKWA committed to supporting 80 charities during its 80th year, encouraging member businesses to give back to their local communities and raise funds for worthwhile causes. As part of this initiative, we hosted a charity bake sale to raise money for the National Autistic Society. Every cake purchased helped support the charity's vital work in providing services, guidance and advocacy for autistic people and their families across the UK.
