The Frustrations of Being Caught in the Shipping Bottleneck

Port and shipping delays affect the supply chain in import and export
September 10, 2025

Port delays are proving to be a major frustration for many of us!

In our recent poll on the biggest challenges facing import and export right now, shipping delays came out as the clear leader and it’s no surprise why. A hold-up at port inevitably causes knock-on effects throughout the supply chain.

While we can’t prevent these issues, we share your frustrations and are committed to taking proactive steps to minimise their impact wherever possible. We work closely with trusted hauliers to ensure goods are moved as quickly as possible once released from the authorities and our warehousing operations are designed to be agile and flexible which helps to absorb some of the disruption.

Customs/compliance/regulations were also highlighted as major challenges. With decades of experience in the sector, we know what documentation is required for each shipment and take care to prepare well in advance. Our team conducts due diligence, stays on top of compliance updates through government bulletins and training, and ensures shipments meet all requirements. All this reduces the risk of unnecessary delays.

If you’d like an informal conversation about how we could help support your business through these challenges, please do get in touch.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to our poll.
