It was a privilege to welcome the Belgian Minister of Justice and the North Sea, Annelies Verlinden, to Commodity Centre Belgium as part of her tour for the “Day of the Entrepreneur 2025”. Her visit offered a unique opportunity to showcase our operations, discuss developments within our sector and share our long-term vision.
Day of the Entrepreneur
Entrepreneurs play a vital role in innovation, growth and opportunity in Belgium. The “Day of the Entrepreneur,” an annual initiative organized by UNIZO, celebrates these contributions and shines a spotlight on the people who turn ideas into reality.
As part of this national event, political leaders and policymakers engage directly with businesses to gain first-hand insight into their activities, challenges and ambitions. These visits help strengthen the connection between government and businesses, supporting a climate in which Belgian companies can continue to thrive and build the future.

In her post on LinkedIn, Annelies Verlinden says:
On the Day of the Entrepreneur, I visited Commodity Centre Belgium, specialists in the handling, storage and logistics of food and metals. A visit that once again shows how crucial strong companies and resilient ports are for our economy.
Entrepreneurs must be able to rely on a reliable, fast and accessible justice system. We need to give entrepreneurs legal certainty more quickly, keep rogue players out of the economy and strengthen confidence in our economy.
We also put the economy at the heart of our North Sea policy. With the North Sea as the engine of our prosperity, we must continue to invest in safe havens where companies can grow and innovation can flourish.
Thank you to all our Belgian entrepreneurs who keep our country moving and show the way to prosperity and innovation!
