Nellie, our high-capacity cocoa and coffee cleaning machine, has certainly been living up to her name. Since joining the Commodity Centre fleet in 2022, she's been on the move, bringing her impressive cleaning capabilities to wherever they're needed.

Capable of cleaning up to 45 – 60 tonnes of product per hour, Nellie has supported operations across multiple sites, helping to improve product quality, maximise yields and enhance safety.

Supporting operations across multiple sites

After beginning work in Essex and then supporting operations in Liverpool, Nellie has now travelled overseas to our Amsterdam site, where she's continuing to make a real difference.

"Nellie has brought value wherever she has been," said Vicky Partridge, our Transformation Project Manager. "From improving efficiency to supporting our customers' quality requirements, she's become a fantastic example of how investing in the right equipment benefits every site she visits."

Investing in specialist processing equipment

As part of Commodity Centre's growing collection of specialist processing equipment, Nellie reflects our ongoing commitment to investing in innovative solutions that support the food and drink supply chain.

Nellie was named after Nellie the Elephant. With her distinctive arm looking like an elephant’s truck, the nickname was impossible to resist. So, the next time you enjoy your morning coffee or apiece of delicious chocolate, there's a good chance Nellie has played her part along the way.
